The Aston Martin Valiant represents the most extreme front-engine road car ever built by the marque. Commissioned by Fernando Alonso as a monument to the art of driving. This limited-production machine twins the fearlessness of 1970s race cars with contemporary materials and engineering. Technically road legal, but all track focused.
At its heart lies a 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12 producing 735 HP and 555 ft lbs of torque, deployed to the rear wheels through a bespoke six-speed manual gearbox with exposed gear linkages. The transmission features a machined aluminum shift knob and drilled pedals for heel-and-toe downshifts, with a magnesium torque tube reduces mass by 9.5 kg over the standard aluminum unit. Power reaches the rear wheels through a mechanical limited-slip differential.
The chassis employs adaptive Spool Valve dampers—based on technology pioneered by Multimatic to win at Le Mans and in Formula 1, now evolved with electronic control capable of cycling through 32 discrete damper curves in 6 milliseconds. The Valiant is one of extraordinarily few cars to feature an all-carbon fiber body forged in 2x2 twill weave, bonded to an aluminum chassis with a 3D-printed rear subframe saving a further 3 kg. Magnesium wheels—1.5 times less dense than aluminum—trim 14 kg of unsprung mass, fitted with carbon fiber aero covers that reduce turbulence whilst evoking the track machines of the 1970s.
Aerodynamics define the Valiant's uncompromising aesthetic. The front splitter extends to a new extreme, balanced by an end-mounted rear fender built as a single carbon fiber piece. Scalloped side vents release pressure from the wheel wells, whilst the functional rear diffuser minimizes lift and drag. Formula 1-inspired end planes mounted on the front splitter optimize airflow in all three dimensions. Quad titanium exhausts—thinned to reduce weight—sharpen the V12's soundtrack into a high-pitched howl.
The interior strips away all pretense. The first road-legal Aston Martin to feature a half cage formed from high-tensile steel, bolstering torsional rigidity and available with optional four-point racing harnesses. The steering wheel carries no buttons or controls—only Alcantara wrapping over machined aluminum spokes, with a metal marker at twelve o'clock. Alcantara lines all surfaces above the driver's waist, whilst carbon fiber cases the doors, center console, and performance seat shells. Brushed steel pedals feature a drilled design that references 1970s race cars.
Limited to 38 examples worldwide, the Valiant represents Aston Martin's unwavering commitment to the manual gearbox, naturally aspirated theatre, and driver engagement without a single flinch of moderation.
