The early Ford Bronco occupies a singular position in American automotive history, a purpose-built off-road vehicle that defined an entire genre, produced in an era when simplicity and capability were one and the same. The first-generation Bronco, built from 1966 through 1977, has never been more coveted, and the 1973 model represents the platform at its most refined: all the rugged character of the original, with none of the compromises that came later.
This example, finished in Wimbledon White over Walnut Classic Stitch leather, is a Velocity Re-Engineered Classic built to the standard the marque is known for. The exterior is laid in custom Glasurit paint, a material reserved for the finest automotive finishes in the world, and outfitted with LED headlights, a Velocity 4-point roll cage with Bikini Top, powered side steps, and 17" alloy wheels wrapped in 285/70R17 BFGoodrich T/A tires. The undercarriage and floor are sealed in Raptor Liner for long-term durability and protection.
Under the hood sits Ford's Gen III 5.0L Coyote V8, the same engine architecture found in modern performance Fords, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and Velocity Custom Performance exhaust. The chassis is a restored Ford frame riding on a Dana 44 front axle, Ford 9" rear axle, Bilstein custom shocks, and a 2.5" suspension lift, a drivetrain specification that delivers genuine capability on pavement and trail alike. Wilwood brakes with Hydroboost assisted braking provide stopping power commensurate with the performance on offer. An aluminum fuel tank completes the chassis build.
Inside, the Walnut Classic Stitch leather interior is appointed with a 15" wood steering wheel, Ididit tilt steering column, Velocity Dakota Digital gauges, and a Focal speaker and subwoofer system — a cabin that honors the Bronco's utilitarian origins while delivering the refinement expected of a build at this level.
