The Details
The Shelby GT500 represents the apex of Ford and Shelby American's collaboration, a lineage dating back to 1967 when Carroll Shelby transformed the Mustang into a legitimate performance icon. The original GT500 featured a 428 cubic-inch V8 and became an instant legend, cementing Shelby's reputation for extracting extraordinary performance from American muscle. After a hiatus, Ford revived the GT500 name in 2007, though it wasn't until the 2020 model year that the nameplate truly reclaimed its crown.
This 2021 GT500 has a 5.2-litre supercharged V8 that produces 760 horsepower and 625 lb-ft of torque. This aluminium-block powerplant features a 2.65-litre Eaton roots-type supercharger and dual-fuel injection system, delivering performance figures that rival dedicated European exotics. The TREMEC 7-speed dual-clutch transmission provides lightning-quick shifts, a 0-60mph time in well under 3.5 seconds and a factory top speed exceeding 180 mph.
The interior appointments feature Recaro leather-trimmed performance seats. The Ebony leather with grey accent stitching complements the Carbonized Gray exterior beautifully. The Technology Package includes a premium Bang & Olufsen sound system.
Beyond straight-line performance, the GT500 benefits from comprehensive chassis development, adaptive MagneRide dampers, Brembo six-piston front brakes, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres, and a sophisticated aerodynamic package. The result is a machine capable of delivering both visceral acceleration and genuine dynamic engagement.
Currently displaying 10,576 miles at the time of listing, this GT500 presents in excellent condition.
