2016 Porsche Cayman GT4

For the first time in 2016, Porsche’s chart-topping, track-focused GT range had an entry level model. It was based on the mid-engined Cayman, and Porsche called it the GT4.  The cheapest GT car ever sold in North America, the GT4 was initially expected to be something of a little sibling to the GT3 and GT2, a car that would easily top the Cayman/Boxster range but not step on the toes of the all-mighty 911. In a sense, the GT4 was exactly that, but at the same time, it was so much more than just the baby of the GT family.

A parts-bin special by composition, the GT4 is an incredibly capable weapon on both the streets and the race track. The engine is the 3.8-liter flat-six engine from the 911 Carrera S, and many of the suspension components have been pulled directly from the 991 GT3. At an official 385 horsepower, the engine is slightly tuned down from the one found in the Carrera S - but that doesn’t stop the GT4 from lapping the Nurburgring just 15 seconds behind the GT3. And as if in an attempt to reconcile those 15 seconds, Porsche gave the GT4 the one thing that they originally never did in the 991 GT3 - a 6-speed manual transmission. All of these components, mixed with the mid-engined layout of the Cayman, come together to be one of those rare scenarios in which the whole is truly greater than the sum of its parts.

Now offered for sale, Blue Chip is proud to present this 2016 Cayman GT4 finished in exquisite Dark Blue Metallic over a Black Leather interior with Platinum Grey stitching. A two-owner and well-optioned example, this car comes equipped with the Extended Range Fuel Tank (16.91 gallon capacity), 18-way Adaptive Sport Seats Plus with Memory Package and Seat Heating, Sport Chrono Package with the Porsche Track Precision App and preparation for laptrigger, Light Design Package, Porsche Communication Management with Navigation and SiriusXM Satellite Radio, the Smoking Package, and Fire Extinguisher. Inside the cabin, Black leather extends to the steering wheel, gear lever, and dashboard, and the seat belts are finished in Silver Grey to match the upholstery stitching. Alcantara can be found in the seatback inserts, headliner, door panels, and the underside of the dashboard. Illuminated door-sill guards read GT4 and are finished in Stainless Steel, and the gear lever, along with the pedals and footrest, are finished in Brushed Aluminum.

Service records from August of 2023 indicate an engine oil service, brake fluid flush, and replacement of both cabin air filters was performed by Blue Chip. Records also indicate the replacement of the drive belt in June of 2022. 20” wheels are finished in Silver and are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2’s with dates codes reading 2019 on the front and 2018 on the rear. Paint Protection film has been applied to the front bumper, as well as a section of the hood and front wheel arches.

With just 5,928 miles on the odometer, this excellent condition 2016 Cayman GT4 comes complete with two keys, a car cover, a clean CARFAX report, and a clean Colorado title.
