2011 Porsche 911 Speedster

Introduced in late 1954 by prominent North American Porsche dealer Max Hoffman, the 356 Speedster was a lower-cost, trimmed down, open top version of the 356 coupe that was intended to better appeal to the American market. With a lower, raked windshield, bucket seats, and minimal folding top, the Speedster was an instant hit and has since cemented itself as a highly desirable collector’s model.

In 2011, Porsche launched a new Speedster as a variant of the 997-generation 911 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur. Like the original, the 997 Speedster was defined by its lower, raked windshield, flat contour of the sporty-look manual soft top, and iconic ‘double bubble’ convertible top compartment lid.  Specific to the 997, the 2011 Speedster shared the wider body work of the Carrera 4, came standard with almost every performance option available on a 911, and could be specified in a Speedster-only Pure Blue paint color. Additionally, as a nod to the 356 Speedster, production numbers were limited to just 356 units worldwide, of which 100 were delivered to the US.

Now offered for sale, Blue Chip is proud to present this 2011 Porsche 911 Speedster finished in Pure Blue over a Black and Pure Blue Leather interior. Of the 356 Speedsters produced, this example is #328 and is represented as such by both the door sill guards and by a plaque on the glove box. Powered by a naturally aspirated, 3.8-liter flat-six, the 997 Speedster shares its engine with the 997 Carrera GTS and features Porsche’s Exclusive Powerkit and Sport Exhaust System. Factory-rated output was 408 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque and was sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. Prominent features of this Speedster include 19” Sport Classic alloy wheels, carbon ceramic brakes, a black soft top, Bi-xenon headlights with leveling and cleaning system, a speed-activated rear spoiler, and Porsche Active Suspension Management. Inside the cabin, sport seats are trimmed in Black and Pure Blue Leather with patterned lower cushions and Speedster headrest embroidery. Pure Blue trim accents the cabin, and interior amenities include the Sport Chrono Package, a fire extinguisher, a Bose Surround Sound System, and a Porsche Communication Management System with Bluetooth and Navigation.
